The wire tie feature is used to reclose a bag after opening and partial removal of contents. This feature is very popular for bag packaging where it is desirable to reclose the bag and protect its contents. Some of the common bag markets are coffee, tea, chemicals, cookies and bakery products.

Premade bags are fed from the magazine to the conveyor using a high speed rotary feeder. Bags are conveyed to the combining section where wire ties are applied using heat reactivated hot melt. Air loaded combining drawrolls help ensure a good bond. Bags having this value-added wire tie feature are then fed to the in-line shingle delivery. The optional accumulator delivery system enhances off-handling and packing efficiencies.

Each bag width and wire tie length requires a changegear. Changegears are available in 1/8" increments and are easily changed in a few minutes. The machine provides a wide range adjustment and offers the ability to position the wire tie vertically (within limits) on the bag face. This is desirable for those bags requiring a heat seal or glued closure after initial filling.
