Here’s total automation
For the manufacturer of paper S.O.S. bags, H.G. Weber has put it all together. Here’s total high speed automation, from paper roll to finished bale in one continuous operation, ready for warehousing: The H.G. Weber Bagmaking System. Every unit in-line, from printing press to bag machine to completely automatic BAGTENDER. Every unit superbly engineered for maximum efficiency, designed to make bag production as fast, effortless and profitable as possible: And each unit bearing the ultimate assurance of reliability and ease of operation, the H.G. Weber nameplate.

System description
The H.G. Weber Bagmaking System comprises a specially designed H.G. Weber Prestoflex Flexographic Press 1,2,3 or 4 color; an H.G. Weber 800 Series Self-Opening-Style Bag Machine, (available in fixed sizes from one-pound to supermarket checkout sizes) and an H.G. Weber 900 Series BAGTENDER for automatic baling. The system prints the store’s own advertising, coupons or seasonal messages, converts the printed paper into properly formed bags, then bales or bands them - in various counts - 250 to 2,000 bags. By introducing total automation to the bagmaking process, the system provides peak output, premium quality and lowest production costs.

Step 1 - A Prestoflex press "Making a great impression"
The first unit in an H.G. Weber Bagmaking System is the easy-to-operate Prestoflex flexographic printing press.

These ruggedly constructed presses may be ordered with automatic motorized fountain drives which activate as the bag machine starts and stops. Enclosed ink systems and feed rollers are also available as optional equipment.

Weber presses are built ruggedly to withstand the high speed 3-shift operation common in bag plants. At the same time, they offer all the required adjustments for quick change and efficient operation.

Step 2 - The H.G. Weber 800 Series Bag Machine
"A worldwide reputation for fast, continuous production"
The H.G. Weber 800 Series is a high speed, fixed size S.O.S. bag machine that has become the standard of excellence in the industry.

It’s amazing versatility and productivity are the result of continual improvements - modifications not always obvious to the eye, but consistently obvious in greater efficiencies.

800 Series machines are available to produce bags from one-pound to supermarket checkout sizes, with tube lengths to assure the most economical use of paper.

Operating at speed from 400 to 1,000 bags per minute, an H.G. Weber 800 Series stands up to the most arduous production schedules.

All designs are aimed at minimum down time. Parts are built ruggedly to withstand round-the-clock use. Drum stations are removable quickly for repair or replacement with a spare. Rotary wing folders give smooth action bottom flap folding.

Step 3 - The H.G. Weber Automatic Bagtender 900 Series "Hands never touch the bags"

The H.G. Weber Automatic Bagtender is one of our most exciting developments in bag converting, a fully automatic catcher and bundler that produces completely wrapped bales, ready for shipment.

The Bagtender’s high speed makes it the perfect supplement to the 800 Series Bag Machine because the speed of the bag machine is no longer limited by manual removal of the bags.

With the Bagtender, human hands never need touch the bags (*except for inspection). It collects bags in "hands" of 25 or 50 and alternates bottoms. Next, each and is pressed, then proceeds through an inspection conveyor, to a bundling press where counts of 250, 400, 500, 1,000 or 2,000 are compressed and banded.

The Bagtender can also completely wrap the bags with the ends folded in and sealed. The result: Complete bales, ready for shipment (and new opportunities for cost-cutting handling and warehousing systems).

Other special features of the H.G. Weber Automatic Bagtender include:
  • Long-pak or short-pak
  • Easy visual or manual inspection of bottoms and print
  • Uniform bales. . . always tight, always neat
  • Easily adjustable for variations in bag paper caliper
  • Automatic wrapper length adjustment
  • Control panel monitors operation and identifies malfunctions
  • Minimum air consumption
