Shopping Handle
Bag Machine

Handle Forming Section
Sophisticated shoppers state their preference for paper shopping bags. Their choice is based on appearance, convenience and the prestige of a high fashion shopping handle bag. Advertisers and shop keepers are choosing the highly styled paper bag as well, to project an image of quality.

The Weber Model CHB bag machine meets the growing demand for production of high quality paper shopping bags. Consistent formation and application of materials to produce handles for shopping bags are standard performance features of this equipment. It is designed to generate more profits through expanded sales potentials within a dynamic market.

Performance for Quality Production
The Weber CHB consists of two basic machines: handle forming and handle application modules, operating in combination with a bag forming machine. The handle forming section forms the handle material into concentric loops and bonds them between two paper strips. These strips are slit and transferred to the application module where they are cut into right-hand and left-hand handle assemblies.

The handle application module cross perforates the paper web in preparation for the handle assemblies and applies a precise adhesive pattern. The handle assemblies are then applied to the adhesive pattern and compressed to the web with multiple rollers. With handles attached, the paper web is then drawn into the bag machine forming complete shopping bags. A principle feature of the application module is a motorized master differential, which is remotely controlled from the operator’s station to facilitate running handle placement and adjustments.

Optimum production can be achieved by combining a Model 5CHB with the Weber Model 5XF Bag Machine, or a Model 7CHB with a Model 7FW Bag Machine. An alternative is to combine the CHB unit with most existing S.O.S. paper bag machines, regardless of manufacturer. The results are quality shopping handle bags produced in-line.
